Tis the season to add a sparkly top into your wardrobe… and your everyday simple outfits.
A little off subject, but this weekend John & I were talking about this little blog. This may come as a surprise but he really loves this blog – maybe it’s because I can talk about clothing here more & less to him, ha! Some of you may already know that The Sweetest Thing was never supposed to be a ‘style & beauty’ blog. You see, I am a small town girl, I didn’t grow up in or around malls like many style bloggers. So, I never thought of myself as one who knew much about fashion. I did however work retail throughout high school, college & graduate school so maybe that’s where I get my love for putting outfits together/accessorizing. Additionally, I have never been great with photography & surely have never been very good in front of the camera! John teases me because I am usually talking the entire time he snaps photos. We’ve literally just taught ourselves as each post comes and goes. With each day, I am learning to be a little less awkward in front of the camera & he is getting a little better using the camera. I could give you hundreds of examples of what I am learning day in and out through blogging but that would bore you. That being said, I’ve let this blog become reader driven & it’s definitely morphed from a personal blog into more of a style/beauty blog over the past 8 months. As we were thinking about how this blog has changed over the past year, we both agreed that it was such a blessing. I have so much fun writing it & connecting with those of you who read it.

Your blog has definitely become one of my faves! I think it's because you are so down to earth and a small town girl at heart. Your style is so relatable and most items are things normal girls can actually afford!

My husband takes my pictures as well and both he and I are like well how do we do this – ugh let me put hand on my and swish my hair…awkkkwwaarrddd. Glad to know I am not alone here LOL

I have been following since a few months and your blog has really grown to be one of my favourites. You look always so pretty and I love all the items you wear! This is a great way to wear sequins to work or out during the day. I feel a lot of times the sparkly tops/skirts get lost in the back of your closet. This is perfect for the holiday season! It takes layering to a new level 🙂
