Styling a ‘Too Short’ Dress as a Top

So, on Friday John got off work at 5am and he came home, we packed up and drove to Dallas. (We took turns… kind of… lol I contributed an hour so he could nap!) But we got to Dallas and I had a meeting at 11 and he and Fitz went to play at the park… after that we went to our room thinking we would just eat our In & Out Burger (!! umm the fries were not good!) and rest for a few minutes… but I fell asleep and so did John & Fitz! I woke up at 530 and got ready really fast so we could run to the mall & get dinner. I had just gotten this ‘dress’ in the mail so when I put it on and realized how short it was I was so annoyed! I really wanted to wear it so I paired it with the white denim I had packed. I felt like I had not planned well and was kind of annoyed with myself but it was comfortable and we didn’t have any special plans. Anyway when we got to the mall & to dinner I had quite a few people stop to ask about this outfit. So much so that john was like ‘okay so I think we need to shoot this outfit tomorrow!’. So voila.. here we are! 

This is technically a dress – Tularosa runs large so I ordered a small thinking it would be longer…. but no! It was way too short for me (I’m almost 5’7). FYI if you want it as a top – size down for sure! I wish I had the XS. Cold shoulder tops and dresses are on trend for this spring & summer, btw. Also, I know shopping for white denim can be tough depending on your body type and if you’ve followed me for long you may know these are my FAVES. I’ve had them for over a year and wear them weekly. I definitely would recommend these! 🙂

Oh ok this is long haha but I’m so excited – our couch is supposed to arrive today! We ordered it before we even closed on the house so we have been patiently waiting for it for a couple of months now.
