DECEMBER’S DIOR MAKEUP FAVORITES
If you follow me at all, you know I am obsessed with Dior Beauty. Their concealer and foundation have quickly become some of my holy grail products that I include in all of my makeup routines. I recently found a blush that is SO pretty, but YOU GUYS their holiday collection is just gorgeous. [So is their packaging, per the use.] They have the perfect red lipstick and holiday eye palette to make your lips and eyes pop during the holiday season. They would also make amazing holiday gifts!! Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation | [Shade: 3.5N] So if you have been keeping up with my beauty related blog posts, IG stories, & more the last few months – you know that I fell madly in love with this foundation! I was not expecting to because it said ‘glow’ & really need a full coverage matte but this foundation is truly incredible & is actually one that dries down to a beautiful, natural finish! Anytime I wore it on my Instagram Stories, I would receive e-mails from people asking what foundation I had on… I ended up making an IGTV video [see video HERE] showing how I apply this foundation, how it looks on & close up, and how it works.
Dior BACKSTAGE Face and Body Foundation | [shade: 3.5N] I noticed after I reviewed the Glow foundation above^ that many of you asked for my thoughts on this one since the other had limited shade options. I actually ended up purchasing this as well and have been using it a lot. SO! Here’s the tea, as you saw in the name, this is a face & body foundation meaning that you can use this all over! Kinda cool, right? It is one that can be applied with fingers, brush, sponge, etc. If you want to wear it & have a light coverage, you can apply with fingers. You can build it up which is what makes it really great in my opinion. I think you can go back and do a third ‘coat’ if you will in that case that you need extra coverage. It’s VERY long wearing & has a nice, matte finish – not drying or dry looking in the least. This is actually a foundation makeup artists love and swear by [including Hair By Chrissy’s MUA, Nat!]. She always uses this one me! They say that since it is so light & ultra buildable that it goes on like a second skin! Now as far as coverage, the more my skin has improved over time, the less foundation I use. However I still get acne & dark spots from the acne [PIH- scar] so I use an extra dab of this on any dark spots & it works like a charm. This is a waterproof, sweatproof, humidity proof, you name it. I’m assuming that’s why MUAs love it – it withstands bright lights & heat at photoshoots, etc. I personally like it because it reminds me a lot of the glow one but its got more coverage. If I really want to be extra, I do a small pump of the Glow & a small drop of this and it is beautiful.
Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer | [Shade: 1.5N] I have raved about this a million times here on my blog & on my socials so I won’t even start rambling. BUT! It is truly one of the best concealers I have ever used! Ever. [!!!]
Dior Backstage Rosy Glow | [Shade: 001 Pink] This is that blush that went viral on Tik-Tok! It looks like a bright, bubblegum pink but it appears as more of beautiful flush of color. Its very pretty!
Dior Backstage Eyeshadow Palette | [Shade: Warm Neutrals] I really like these palettes – this one in particular screams ‘Emily’ with the matte tans & browns + glitter. One thing that I really liked about these palettes is that they have a concealer like shade in the top left corner. It is more or less an eyeshadow primer you can use to prep your eyes & it also is good for concealing darkness or veins around the eye area.
Lip Glow [tinted] || [Shade: 012 Rosewood] This stuff! OMG you guys! So the trend lately is lip tinting so that you can be or look ‘more natural’ and just wear lip balm but have a bit of a pop on the lips. Well, this takes lip tinting to another level – esp for those who are scared to commit to any tinting. I personally don’t want to commit to that BUT this gives you the tint PLUS 24 hour hydration & its got a glossy, glowy finish like you are just wearing lip balm. I tried a few shades but ended up like the newer shade, ‘Rosewood’, best. It is a good nude / pink combo. Think of this as a super hydrating lip balm // also natural makeup. Its great with makeup but also ideal for days when you have no makeup on or light makeup! It has a effortless look to it! [See IG stories to see it on me!]
Rouge Dior Forever Liquid Lip || [Shade: 999 ‘Forever Dior’ & 100 ‘A Forever Nude’] *I reviewed these in that same IGTV video w/the Glow foundation but I’m wearing the red in the photos above by trees in our entry way!
Rouge Dior Lipstick | [Shade: 100 Nude Look] Wearing this matte, nude lipstick in the photos above with the Dior plumping gloss on top! I love matte during the winter – but for going out I do like to add a bit of gloss! Their mattes are AMAZING. Not dry in the least. Very soft & feel – good? not gross! I liked this shade of nude – it is something I do not wear a lot but I love it!
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss | This is an old school favorite! I remember when John was in medical school and we were moving from place to place for his audition rotations, I splurged and purchased this. It is one of the best lip plumpers over all. I remember wearing it around my sister and her asking if I had done something to my lips. At the time, I don’t think lip filler was common? and we sure didn’t have the kind of money for that if it was! But she immediately went to get this after.
