Essences… 💕 I’m crazy over this step in my skincare routine but I think that a lot of women skip right over it or just have not been introduced to one they love. In my head, I thought you cleansed, toned, moisturized, & used whatever retinol you wanted. So It was discovered as a chance observation at a sake brewery in Japan, where scientists noticed the elderly brewers had wrinkled faces but extraordinarily youthful-looking hands. One of my most frequently asked questions is about my skincare routine: what I use, when I use it, what order the products go in, etc. so I wanted to make sure and talk about that here! I was confused at first about the word essence and wasn’t totally sure how it fit into your beauty routine. It looks similar to a toner, but it is very different. It basically is its own category actually – I apply after toning and before I apply a serum. However, if you like to keep your skincare routine short & sweet- this also works as a serum. Its going to hydrate, brighten, and clear up your skin. It works to nourish you skin which in turn helps prevent and/or fade fine lines.  I apply the essence after my cleanser and toner, and before my  serum & moisturizer. I use it twice a day, in the morning and the evening and you can wear it under makeup or just by itself. It is a lightweight liquid that absorbs quickly and easily into your skin. It’s also easy to use, you just shake it into your hand, press your palms together and then pat all over your face! You should only need about as much as the size of a quarter. I try not to waste a single drop so I rub the extra all over my hands and also down my neck and even onto my chest.
