You guys – this oversized cable knit sweater is a DREAM. I am living in it – its nice & long and looks so festive and cute. It runs TTS and has an oversized fit. You’ll probably want to wear it every day until Christmas, just a fair warning!

In other news, I’m posting a little late today… and I will actually explain why I’ve been posting late during this pregnancy. SO, I have been getting sick at night – the type of sick where I’m so tired I can’t talk, and I just want to throw up. (sorry if thats TMI). So, I go to bed at 9-10 and get up at 5-6 and that’s usually when I work on my blog. Today however, we had Christmas photos and then a baby appointment so I am just now updating. The babe is doing great though, praise the Lord. I loved watching the little heart actually beating in today’s ultrasound. We get to see the baby every 4 weeks when we go – we loveeeee our doctor. Unfortunately  we found out that the placenta is on top of my stomach and the reason that is not cool is because that ‘mutes’ the kicks and movements. Our close friends Marwan & Melissa are expecting as well and Melissa has been feeling the baby move and kick a lot and it got me worried because I haven’t felt anything. However, the first thing our doc said today was “aw your placenta is on top so you may not be able to feel anything for a little while.” Everyone says thats the coolest part of pregnancy so I was pretty discouraged, but goodness, there are so many other worse things that could happen. I’m just grateful the baby is doing well, growing, and all.

Anyone traveling for the holiday??? I would love to hear your plans!

We have an early morning flight to Ohio tomorrow! I am praying for snow, lol. #coldweatherlover

  1. Love this outfit! Don't be discouraged everything will be ok! I live in Ohio! We don't have snow yet but it's really cold! I bet John is super excited for the OSU/ Michigan Game Saturday. It's all everyone is talking about here! 🙂

  2. So happy to hear that the baby is doing well!! Thank you for keeping us updated, I know I am so excited to follow along on this journey with Baby Gemma 🙂 This outfit is super cute! I need that sweater ASAP. I live in comfy sweaters here in Boston.

As for travel plans, I am actually sitting in the airport waiting to fly HOME to Virginia!! So excited to escape the cold! Have a safe trip!

  3. My placenta was in that same spot both times. I want to say I started to feel flutters the first time around 18 weeks and full blown kicks by 22 weeks. It may take longer to feel things, but trust me once the baby gets big enough you will feel it all! And you'll still get to see weird body part outlines, like feet, in the third tri.

  4. Love this outfit it's perfect! I am due with my first baby in May! 🙂 My placenta is also where they said I wouldn't feel the baby move or kick for a little and I started crying! But you are absolutely right, just having a healthy baby is what we want. Congrats on your pregnancy! I will be enjoying the beautiful journey with you!!

  5. My placenta was on top with my first pregnancy but I started to feel him move around like 21 weeks. It's the best and just makes it that much sweeter when you feel them!!! Ps when I ran into you in Denver I knew I was pregnant (we weren't telling anyone yet) but I swear I said to my husband "I wonder if she's pregnant cause she's glowing" ???? Good luck mama I'm due in May! You're going to be the cutest little mommy! Xoxo, Tori.

  6. Same placenta placement with my first child. Definitely discouraging, but you will feel your little bundle soon enough. Also, with my second, my placenta was not in top so I did feel him sooner. Good luck and hope you feel baby soon. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  7. My little babe was born seven weeks ago but I had the same thing. I didn't feel her until almost 26 weeks! Compared to others who felt things as early as 16, it was pretty scary. But totally normal. The plus side is that they don't wake you up as much during the night because you can't feel as much 🙂 I also didn't feel a lot of movements even towards the end of my pregnancy and I'd have to go in to the doctor to get stress tests done because I was worried from not feeling her. Turns out she was moving a lot (the machine tells you they are) but I couldn't feel it even at like 37 weeks. Crazy!

  8. I had nighttime 'morning' sickness too, and I'm a night person so I felt completely off. If I wasn't in bed and asleep by 8:30pm then I'd throw up. And I had that with both of my pregnancies. It went away somewhere around 16-20 weeks both times for me. Here's hoping yours ends a lot sooner than mine did. 🙂

  9. How far along are you? I have an anterior placenta too. I am 17 weeks and have not felt anything. But love seeing the baby move on the us and excited for gender reveal at thanksgiving! I used to get so sick at night early on. This tea helped me. Put little pieces of fresh ginger in the bottom of a coffee mug and press with the back of a spoon to squeeze the oils out. Then add 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tb spoon of apple cider vinegar, a squeeze of a lemon and then pour hot water in the cup and stir it all up. It is a lifesaver!

  10. Hey I am almost 34 weeks pregnant with my little boy and my placenta is on top I was super worried too but now i feel him all the time and the muted kicks are better because they don't hurt like they did with my daughter! Congrats so happy for u guys!

  11. I have an anterior placenta too girl, it's a bummer but mostly for my husband – I have been feeling those little flutters since I was about 18-20 weeks, but my husband just felt her for the first time last week (I am 34 weeks). And like the mama who posted above me, it's actually not so bad because the kicks don't hurt 🙂 granted this is my first babe so I don't know what else it would feel like! Anyway, I am so so so excited for you! How far along are you, I don't think you ever said? PS great outfit! Perfect for lazy preggo days!

  12. Happy to hear your baby is well! My hubby and I are headed to KY to be with his family this weekend, I actually have a light blue sweater very similar to your red in my suit case now! Funny! I love the red though! Have safe travels! Happy Thanksgiving to your little family!

  13. I TOTALLY get the concern! Several friends were pregnant while I was and I kept hearing about how much everyone's babies were moving, and I'm like…ummm.. what's that like? But eventually I did, like around 22 weeks and it's so special. Plus her kicks never kept me up at night bc they were subtle!

  14. I have an anterior placenta as well and had the same concerns. I was shocked when I felt him kick a few days before 20 weeks. Those first kicks weren't flutters…they were KICKS! Then my husband felt him a couple of weeks later. Then we started to see him kick..which is beyond cool. My placenta is more to the right side though so I always feel him on the left side. You're tiny…I bet you'll feel your little one soon!! Good luck!

  15. At my 20 week appt my doctor said my placenta was in front and that is why I haven't felt any kicks. Literally that same week I started to feel kicks and I felt every movement from my crazy little guy throughout the rest of the pregnancy !

  16. You look adorbs in your pom pom beanie! I'll be in Cincinnati for Turkey Day… we have three Thanksgivings between me and my boyfriend's families. I'll be rocking a food baby by the end of the night! Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

  17. I am just so thrilled and excited for y'all, seriously! I am so glad that your little one is doing well, but I totally wish you could feel them. So sorry you haven't been feeling well. You look fabulous, though!
