At Home Wrapping Gifts.. PJ Day


A few days ago, John got the day off so we got up at 5:30 am to shoot Christmas card photos. John typically gets up earlier than that, however, I am a night owl so I usually do not function well early in the morning! We spent the day running errands – and then came home, changed into PJs, turned on Christmas music, & I got started on some gift wrapping. I was kind of exhausted while we were taking these, hence why my hair is piled on top of my head, but I thought it would be a fun peek into what this season is like around our house!

I was kind of bummed because I ordered a new coffee table (here) & it didn’t arrive until the next day but it is so pretty – I wanted to share it!

Also, if you are looking for a gift for someone who is hard to shop for MY SOCKS are the best! My sister and I are both getting them for a gift exchange we have coming up. 

As far as my tree goes, this was our first year to have a Christmas tree. During med school we were moving a lot & last December we were moving from an apartment into this home so this is our first time to ever buy Christmas decor. My sister came over the day before Thanksgiving and decorated my tree! She and my mom set the standard REALLY high for Christmas trees! They are both so talented – it took her maybe 30 minutes max to decorate this tree. All I had to do was buy the tree & shop around for decorations to come up with a theme!

I made a video of my tree explaining where everything was from – and also a video of how to put ribbon on the tree, but I looked and sounded so tired in it so I am not going to post it! (Sidenote – I put a video on my Snapchat if you want to see how the ribbon is done – @emilyanngemm )

My ribbon is from Signed & Sealed which is in Northwest AR. So are the black ornaments, sparkly antlers, and fancier ornaments. 

Most of the rest is from Hobby Lobby! (50% off is the best!)

  18. OMG! Thank you for becoming a blogger! I tune in everyday via all social media platforms and I've been reading for at least a year now.   39. Love those PJ's – they are now on sale at Nordstrom. What size did you get?? They only have a medium in the red but I think I'll need a small. I'm 5'9' and wear a 27 in jeans.
