DRESS: Topshop | BAG: Chloe (smaller, less expensive version here) | WEDGES: Jessica Simpson (love these, too!) | HAT: BP | BRACELETS: David Yurman, Kendra Scott | RING: Kendra Scott | MONOGRAM: Love Always (3xl, 16″)
I’m a sucker for a good sundress… growing up in Arkansas, the summers are super hot so I love dresses that are cute, yet loose & comfy! The edges of this one are frayed which is a fun detail, and of course I love the pockets (so basic, right.)
Okay, on a different note… We I have been updating out living room furniture lately. Okay, not really updating but finally getting around to decorating. First off, John loathes any sort of decor.. he thinks our living room just needs a big ugly, yet cozy couch and a big television. (I couldn’t disagree more!) So anyway, now that Fitz is no longer a wild, un-trained pup, I decided to order a nice, new rug & couch (both of which John hate) about 2 weeks ago. The same week that I got them in, some construction people (okay I don’t know what I’m talking about here) had to dig a massive hole in our backyard for something ??? and then left our backyard a hot mess, with a mud pile essentially. Well, it’s part of our morning routine for Fitz to spend a good chunk of time running back and forth across the backyard talking? to the dogs on each side (its just a lot of barking). Anyway, so far this week Fitz has come in 2x w/his paws covered in thick mud and guess what – I can’t get it out of the rug!! I’m kind of nervous about potentially damaging the rug if I start experimenting w/Pinterest recommendations, but Resolve doesn’t work. If you all have any great tricks I’d love to hear them. -xoxo, your friend Emily who let’s her dog run the house!
My husband is the same as John! I guess it's a guy thing. 😉 I love decorating and can't wait to see pics of what you've been up to. 🙂

Gorgeous dress, love its "simpleness", you look great! This is the perfect everyday summer dress!

Okay, this is primitive but works! I have 2 zuchons and they track in mud, bugs and sometimes poop. If the rug is not too big for you to handle, drag it outside and throw it over something like a fence, table or chair. Blast it with a waterhose on full power and scrub as you go. Cleaners will only get the surface dirt and you need to get to what is ground in. Do both sides. Let it airdry overnight. This always works for me.
Gorgeous dress!!

Rooms to Go makes a miracle potion that can get just about anything out of carpet/clothes. I got mine when I purchased a couch from them, but you might try there!

Look at what the rug is made of? That will determine what solvents will be best. And if you're really worried about ruining it, a professional should be able to take care of it for you.
I really want this weather ! 🙁 Good pics!

While I have never used it, I have heard that White Wine Vinegar is the cure all for everything in the stain department. From your tile floors to carpets, I have friends that swear by it. Hope this helps! I have a puppy who also loves mud 🙂

Hi Emily!
I love rugs and have the same problem from time to time. If the stains are pretty intense, maybe soaking with resokve for a few hours and then cleaning with the rug doctor machine (I think that is what they are called) that You can rent at supermarkets would work. This would be for when you have a few though. Try calling where you got the rugs from to see if they can send you a little sample piece where you can try cleaning products and pinterest ideas!
Love this, super pretty! 🙂

We have carpet (GAG!) in our bedrooms and hallway. I loathe carpet probably as much as John loathes décor. A steam / carpet cleaner was the best 200 dollars I ever spent. It will seriously be your best friend. It's gotten everything out from mud to upset tummy accidents. I live in Dallas and with all this rain my Great Dane and Labs track in mud daily. I've found it works really well on my tile too. I'm probably not suppose to use it on tile? But it works.
Love the dress! So pretty.

Try Folex. Works good for me. Some grocery stores have it, Target probably does. I know I have bought it at Lowe's too. Good luck!
What is the rug made of ? We have a Bissell pet stain remover machine that has saved us. I personally like the Woolite stain remover that comes in a can ( not spray), foams up – it removes everything – works great on grout too , lol
love the green and blue! and i hear ya sister! my dogs come in with muddy paws on the daily! the one reco from pinterest that has worked for me is the cleaner made with hydrogen peroxide, water, and blue dawn dish soap! but it has to be blue!! good luck!

First of all, love the dress. Secondly, I feel you on muddy paws! I finally realized that I should only buy rugs that I can vacuum and pop in the washing machine. Sadly it limits the styling I can do, but at least the house is clean!

That dress is SO cute on you! Love it! Also, for your stains, try AJAX (it is like a dish soap, wont ruin fabric) I got some pink icing out of my white couch with it! Have a great weekend!

Maviyi sevmeme neden oldu ya elbise. 🙂
Oh dear it sounds like very bad timing that they had to dig a whole in the back! Maybe you should just take it to a carpet cleaner? Or someone who knows how to deal with it, especially if you are scared of damaging it. Loving your dress here! And those wedges are just so perfect 🙂
love the picutres! so beautiful and summery
