Yes, plaid is a fall/winter thing. No, I don’t follow the rules.
If we are being totally honest, I actually prefer fall clothing/style anyway since I am not a big fan of hot weather. There’s just something about a good plaid shirt that doesn’t seem to get old… perhaps it’s the preppy factor!

In other news, this week went by way too quickly. John starts in-patient pediatrics on Monday & I am already sad just thinking about not seeing him very much. I know in four years from now we will realize why we put ourselves through all of this, but it’s hard to keep that in mind at times. Many have been asking questions about where we are living, working, etc. Well, each month John will be in a new city at a new hospital. His first month is in Fort Smith, AR, his second month (& possibly his 3rd) will be in Tulsa, OK. Right now, we still do not know where we will be during November, January, February, March, or April. The one question I keep getting asked is “where will you live?” For his Tulsa rotation, my sister’s best friend’s family helped us find a place. After that, we don’t really know where we will live until we find out which city we will be in. We do know that we are keeping the next 4 months as close to Arkansas as possible but starting in January/February we will return to the Virginia/Tennessee area (and maybe North Carolina) for a few rotations. That being said, we really do not have a ‘home’. We’ve put our belongings in a storage unit and we have our necessities with us that can be easily packed up when we have to move to the next place. Obviously our situation isn’t ideal, but it’s our only (decent & not expensive) option. We are grateful for my parents who have opened their home to use as a ‘hub’ in between rotations. Not to mention my brother, sister, & grandparents have all generously welcomed us into their homes as well. It’s times like these that John and I are learning so much more about life, friendships, family, etc. And it’s also times like these that I know what is it like to be a gypsy!
Thanks for stopping by today – I hope everyone has a great weekend. It looks like we are going to get some more rain here – which is fine now that I have pink rainboots!
Your outfits are always super cute. && rules are meant to be broken!

LOVE this look. Perfect, per usual. And – I know it's weird to be living as a nomad, but what an adventure!! You will look back on this many years from now and think about how carefree you could be, so make the most of it!

Have a great weekend girl..

I'm starting peds on Monday too! I'm doing it in a pediatric ER setting. I just finished with surgery and hospice, so this'll be interesting. Love the loko! 🙂
Super cute! I can't even imagine all the moving and travelling you guys deal with.
I love this outfit! I completely hear you about the weather. Not a big fan of hot weather.
All the moving … I'm dreading my simple one so I can't even imagine for you.
Hope you have a great weekend!
I am pretty sure I would have never thought to put plaid and polka dots together-but it looks amazing! I can't imagine all the moving from place to place you both are doing, but it was all be very worth it in the end!
Love this look, you look gorgeous!
I am in love with your skirt!

Hey! That's not supposed to match. But lo and behold it actually does and it looks great on you. Crazy gypsy life! It sounds kind of exciting but at the same time I like to be settled so I know it would probably bother me for a while. That's a lot of moving around and up in the airs!!
Why are you so perfect! I love this combo of the plaid and polka dots! Super chic!
Xoxo,

Hang in there! I am currently in my clinical year in PA school. Our coordinators do their best to let us know where we are going, but there are always bound to be last minute changes (like my ER rotation – just got confirmed yesterday for Monday!!). I am a planner and I'm very organized, so it's hard for me to just have faith and pray that it will all work out. I'm praying for you and John to find peace in the small victories and moments together!

My hubs and I are both medical students. It's been crazy stressful to try to coordinate our audition rotations and pick residency spots that have both of our picks! We'll be living in randomness in NJ, PA, OH, and MI (Detroit, yikes!) the next few months. As long as we're together we're happy!
One of my all time favorite combos! You look gorgeous as usual lady!
I know the next few years are going to be tough at times, but you'll make it though! It will all pay off in the end, it's just a little hiccup in time in the grand scheme of things. xx
Loving the outfit dear

I just got that same shirt and am so excited to wear it! I'm not one for needing to stay within the season, but I'm not one for wearing a button down in 90 degree weather, either. Great look, and I can't wait to see how else you wear it! (I also hope things work out for you.)
PS: Just found your blog through Pinterest, and I'm a big fan 🙂
